Primary School Improvement Project in Muong Cha Area Development Programme

from Education for Children in Vietnam

by World Vision Singapore

Every morning, 22 children attending school at Lùng Thàng 1 make their way up and down a steep, muddy slope. With no proper fence, the area is unsafe and leaves students at risk of falling. The school also lacks a hygienic toilet and access to clean water for handwashing, while its current facilities are inadequate to meet the educational needs of the community.

Current slope dirt paths leading to school entrances which get muddy and unsafe during wet season:

This crowdfunding initiative is started by a group of child sponsors of the Muong Cha Area Development Programme after witnessing these needs firsthand during a visit to the school in January 2026.

With the funds raised, children in this primary school will benefit from:

  • a concrete pathway to the school entrance
  • a school gate (with gate pillars of 0.4 x 0.4 x 3m)
  • a school fence (0.4m brick fence base with steel fence top)
  • a playground with area of 72 square metres (equipped with 1 swing, 1 see saw, 1 slide, 4 spring riders)
  • toilets (area of 15 square metres with 2 rooms for boys and girls)
  • bathrooms (area of 15 square metres with 2 rooms for boys and girls)
  • clean water systems to supply water to toilets and bathrooms

These improvements will not only safeguard the children’s well-being but also give them the opportunity to learn and play in a more safe and conducive environment.

In two years, the intake of students will double to about 42 children. These improvements made will benefit more children in the community.

Join hands with World Vision and the Muong Cha child sponsors in this fundraising campaign to enable children in Muong Cha to reap the benefits of an education in a safe and conducive school environment. Photos and updates of the improvements made to the school will be provided to donors for this project upon completion.
