Fugro Fundraising for Flores Indonesia Earthquake Fundraising

A powerful 7.7-magnitude earthquake struck Flores, Indonesia on 15 August 2026, claiming over 50 lives, damaging homes and forcing thousands of people to evacuate. Continued aftershocks and disruptions to electricity, telecommunications and road access are adding to the uncertainty faced by affected families.

For children already living with water scarcity, food insecurity and malnutrition in Flores, this disaster threatens to deepen existing vulnerabilities, leaving them at a greater risk of hunger, displacement, distress and protection concerns.

World Vision has worked in Flores for many years through child sponsorship and community development programmes, and is now responding to reach 25,000 people impacted by the earthquake, including 12,000 children. Assessment teams have been deployed and shelter kits are being distributed to families displaced from their homes by the earthquake.

• $300 can provide 6 families with essential hygiene supplies including soap, toothbrushes, towels, and buckets.
• $750 can provide emergency shelter for 6 families with tarpaulins, ropes, mats, and blankets 
• $1,800 can provide clean drinking water for 4,030 people for half a month 
• $3,500 can provide 60 children with a Child-Friendly Space to receive psychosocial support
