Clean Water & Toilets for Lùng Thàng 1 Primary School

A note from Lena: In 2024, I visited Lùng Thàng 1 Primary School in Muong Cha with World Vision Singapore. What I saw stayed with me: the school's toilets have deteriorated so badly that even with daily cleaning, the smell never fully goes away. I knew I wanted to do something about it, and I'm hoping you'll join me.
Without safe toilets and proper sanitation, children face a greater risk of illness from contaminated water and poor hygiene. In schools, the lack of clean, accessible toilets with handwashing facilities can also make it harder for children to attend regularly and focus on learning. Access to safe toilets, handwashing facilities and good hygiene practices helps protect children’s health and enables families and communities to live with greater safety and dignity.
Through this project, children at this school will benefit from:
- toilets & bathrooms (15 square metres, with separate rooms for boys and girls)
- clean water systems supplying the toilets and bathrooms

In two years, student intake is expected to double to about 42 children, so these facilities will benefit even more of them.
