Bicycles to Enable Children to Go to School

This fundraising initiative is initiated by Project Somnang team, a group of Singapore Management University (SMU) students under the Overseas Community Service Project, who will be heading to Kuleaen in December 2026 to empower children through interactive learning programmes during their service learning trip.
Kuleaen Area Development Programme (ADP) is located in one of the poorest provinces in the northern part of Cambodia. World Vision has been present in the ADP since 2024 to uplift vulnerable children and families out of poverty through access to healthcare, quality education and livelihood opportunities for parents.
But the journey to education is not always easy. Children often have to walk long distances sometimes over an hour each way, just to get school. This exhausting daily trek leads to dropout rates and lost learning opportunities.
The SMU Project Somnang Team seeks to change that by providing 20 students in Sambour Primary School in Kuleaen, who have to travel long distances to school, with bicycles. These bicycles will shorten the children's commuting time to and from school so that they are able to arrive in school on time and have more energy to learn.
A bicycle may seem like a small gift, but for these children, it's a powerful tool for change. It helps them get to school safely, reduces dropout rates and gives them the chance to build a brighter future in school.
Each bicyle costs just $90. By sponsoring a bicycle, you are helping a child get to school safely, learn with energy and dream with hope.
