Archie's 34k Menstrual Project in Nepal 2020

from Clean Water and Sanitation

by Archie Teo

Hi my friends.

Basic human needs that we take for granted are deemed luxuries to so many.

Just because we have no opportunities to cross paths with people who are denied things like clean water, a roof over their heads, and basic sanitary hygiene facilities, does not mean that they don't exist.

This campaign that I am supporting, initiated by World Vision, aims to raise $34k, which will achieve:

1. Reaching out DIRECTLY to no less than 1300 young girls in Nepal and providing these girls with all the basic necessities such as underwear, Soap, Sanitary Pads, Educational material on menstruation, Torch lights, Towels.

2. Reaching out and educating EVERYONE ELSE in the village and removing all doubts and dispelling the taboo that girls and women mentruating ARE NOT UNCLEAN (rolls eyes).

3. Long-termed, generation-transcending Education about the subject in schools as well as the community.

4. To supply ONE school with a sanitary pad vending machine so that the girls can be discreet when they need to buy some. (34k covers one school for one year. The main campaign hopes to raise $102k for 3 schools for the coming year.)

5. To achieve this 34k target ASAP, so that all the above can be rolled out with no delay!

*Minimum donation amount i have set it at $100.

Why $100? Because I have a total 500+ friends in my FB group.

If only 65% of you contribute $100 each, we would've reached the target!

What is $100? A night of drinks. Or a family dinner. Or perhaps one weekend of 4D? Some new gadget, or some new shoes. Perhaps it's your one or two month phone bill?

What is $100 here, is helping these girls get back some basic dignity, educating a whole generation of the community, keeping these girls in school, and a whole lot of good warm fuzzy feeling inside you, knowing that $1 a day for the next 3 months will forever change so many lives.

Yes you read it right. It's $1 a day for the next 100 days. That's one less kopi, or coke, or two sticks of cigarettes a day. For the next 100 days.

Giving - imo, must have a little of pain. Then got effect. If it doesnt pain you at all, then maybe you can do much more.

C'mon, let's do this TOGETHER!

NOW! :)

Yours truly,

Archie
